How Education Facing Change and Progress of Human Civilization

 
Education is an activity that knows no age. We've heard a sentence; learning is to start from the womb to the tomb in. The function of education is to raise the dignity of man.

Humans are required to constantly innovate to lead a better life, education should also be required to create and innovate. Education at present experiencing challenges of the times, it was because of the dynamics of human life is always changing, so the challenges and gaps faced by education are constantly evolving and increasingly complex.

United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, giving the four pillars of education, namely;

Learning to learn
Every child should know the learning resources around them; able to access the learning resources; and is able to use the technology, especially information technology (computer and internet) in finding and accessing knowledge. Therefore, in addition to improving their ability to concentrate, reading, writing, listening, memorization, association, also need to learn how to do research and to operate the computer. It became a major supporter in improving learning outcomes. With these skills, the person is able to have the information and knowledge that is needed quickly and accurately in the middle-paced world of competitive and rapidly changing.

Learning to do
It is applying knowledge to work, either in the context of industry and economy in the context of non-industry such as: service, social, informal sector, art, knowledge, and self-employment. Simply put, this is a sequence of learning to learn. But in the complex, learning to do is a review to promote human readiness to enter the workforce with the skills and competencies that support high. Therefore, early planning is necessary to learn the skills and competencies appropriate to their talents, interests, and personal intelligence in line with labor market needs and demands of life in general.

Learning to be
Learning to be a whole human being who has a body and soul, this is done through a long process of education. Every child is born as a whole person and unique, their uniqueness reflected or visible from the difference talents, interests, potential and other types of intellectual capital. The task of education is to find talents, interests and potential of children from childhood and develop it so that children are able to apply their full potential. Everyone must learn to be himself, so he has autonomy, social sensitivity, responsible, and the ability to choose and make decisions for her life.

Learning to live together
Learning to live together or learn to live with others. This is due to humans as social beings who must always get along and work with different characters and different cultural backgrounds. Is the fact that people work and learn in a particular social environment. Environment in which people learn and work consist of a wide variety of social backgrounds, culture, politics, and history.

The four pillars of education above implies the importance of life skills (life skills) the skills that every moment able to learn in accordance with the demands of the need to acquire and produce knowledge (how to learn); skills to work (how to do), skills for to be itself (how to be); and life skills together (how to live together)
